New Combinations
Monster Worldwide acquires social networking site Tickle Inc., which offers
career assessment, personality, and IQ tests. Terms of the deal include $53.9
million in cash and stock up front, plus additional payments of $40 million over
3 years, based on Tickle's future performance. Tickle raised $9 million in its
first round of venture capital in 2000, led by August Capital, and has been
profitable since the second quarter of 2002.

strategies.
Robert Half Technology Information Technology Hiring Index and Skills Report finds that business expansion continues to be the leading factor driving IT hiring, making this the third consecutive quarter of growth in this category, Microsoft Windows administration remains the skill set most in demand by CIOs, technology executives at the largest companies are most optimistic about IT hiring plans, and that the strongest employment growth is forecast in the West North Central and Mid-Atlantic regions.
