Job Board Definitions II
Read John Sumser's article in the Electronic Recruiting News.

From the Bureau
In March, 257 metropolitan areas recorded lower unemployment rates than a year earlier, 65 areas had higher rates, and 9 areas had rates that were unchanged. Ten areas posted unemployment rates below 3.0 percent, with eight of these located in the South and two in the Midwest. Thirteen metropolitan areas had jobless rates of at least 10.0 percent; 9 of these were located in California and 3 were along the Mexican border in other States. The national unemployment rate was 6.0 percent, not seasonally adjusted, in March.

Monster Hiring Solutions is a comprehensive suite of tools that allows employers to target and source quality candidates with greater efficiency and accuracy through its core products SmartFind Resume Search and TargetReach Job Postings.

Grads
In a recent survey on what employers want most in hiring new college grads, entry-level job site CollegeGrad.com found that the top five criteria employers ranked as most important are:
#1–the student's major, #2–interviewing skills, #3–internship/experience, #4–other miscellaneous qualifications, and #5–the GPA.

MonsterTRAK, in its annual graduation survey, finds that only 10 percent of graduates have secured a job, 16 percent will head to graduate school, and 57 percent plan to move back in with their parents. It seems that entry-level job opportunities are most abundant in Sales (27%), Administrative and Support Services (10%), Healthcare (7%), and Customer Service and Call Center (6%). The top States for entry-level job opportunities include California (15%), Florida (7%), Texas and New York (6%), and Illinois (5%).
