The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.5 percent in January, before seasonal adjustment. The January
level of 185.2 was 1.9 percent higher than in January 2003. The Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) increased 0.6 percent in January, prior to seasonal adjustment. The January level of 180.9 was 1.8 percent higher than in January 2003.
Real average weekly earnings increased by 0.2 percent from December to January after seasonal adjustment, according to preliminary data. A 0.1-percent increase in average hourly earnings combined with a 0.6-percent increase in average weekly hours was partially offset by a 0.6-percent increase CPI-W.

eBay to help small businesses recruit and hire qualified employees, giving Monster prominent exposure to eBay's large base of users.
JobCircle, a Northeastern online recruitment site for technology, telecom, intelligence, and engineering professionals, will offer expanded services from Hrsmart.com, which include Employee Referral, Performance Management, Learning Management, Succession Planning and Career Development and Salary Planning. These new solutions will be an add-on to current JobCircle offerings.
