Who's On Top
According to TopJobSites.com, Alexa rankings for January and early February show a remarkable recovery for Internet job sites from a record downturn in December. Although there were more sites down (54%) than up (45%), it was a marked improvement over December, when 88% of job sites were down for the month. Two job categories (general job sites and college job sites) showed an overall increase for February. According to the site, there has been no apparent traffic impact from the MSN and AOL deals shifting from Monster to CareerBuilder. Monster showed a 5-percent increase for the month and second ranked CareerBuilder showed a 6-percent increase for the month. Also interesting is that the ratings for Monster did not substantively change in the weeks after the millions they spent on Super Bowl ads.

CareerBuilder.com tells us that it is getting ready to launch a partnership with Entersect towards the end of March. Entersect's background checking services will be available on the Careerbuilder website, allowing job seekers to submit their information and check the results for accuracy, and to share the information with potential employers.
An new inventory marketing solution from Subcontract.com allows staffing vendors to one-stop-shop and partners for subcontract and split placements. The company reports that staffing firms, such as Modis, Comsys, Remedy and The Judge Group, are using the new platform.
