Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report
In the week ending February 7, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 363,000, an increase of 6,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 357,000. The 4-week moving average was 350,500, an increase of 5,000 from the previous week's revised average of 345,500.
Traffic Up
CareerBuilder.com reports that its online traffic
increased by 117 percent and total job postings by 33 percent in January 2004 as
compared to January 2003. According to comScore Media Metrix's latest report,
the CareerBuilder.com Network attracted 16.2 million unique visitors in January
2004 as compared to 7.5 million unique visitors during January 2003. The company attributes a significant portion of its most recent traffic increase
to CareerBuilder.com's exclusive alliances with America Online and MSN.
