Reveille
Softscape, a web-based human capital management and case management solutions firm, releases new editions of its AchievementPlus HCM suite, including AchievementPlus 9.5. The new editions provide a broader range of organizations with core HCM best practices and the ability to streamline the implementation of existing HCM processes.

According to new research from Korn/Ferry International , 76 percent of global executives would prefer more satisfaction from their job over money (18%) or power (6%). Two-thirds of the executives believe their senior management is either competent (34%) or fairly competent (35%) for their business. Only 6 percent believe their senior management had the wrong strategy. Fifty-one percent of executives believe that their boss is competent, 48 percent described advancement as fair, and based on merit, 41 percent believe that advancement within their company is based on favoritism and posturing.

Reuters reports that Monster Worldwide plans to launch an online community next month for users of its popular jobs listing site for a fee, but critics question whether the move will be successful. Industry analysts and rivals claim that Monster is seeking other revenue streams after losing market share to CareerBuilder.com, but they doubt if the offering will make money.

Oh, the Possibilities
At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Microsoft Corp. and The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) announced a technology partnership to create and implement information and communications technology projects that will help developing countries achieve the Millennium Development Goals.
