Regional and State unemployment rates were generally unchanged or slightly
lower in November. Nearly twice as many States recorded over-the-month rate decreases than reported increases. The national jobless rate was essentially unchanged at 5.9 percent in November. Nonfarm payroll employment decreased in 25 States and the District of Columbia in November.
Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report
In the week ending December 13, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 353,000, a decrease of 22,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 375,000. The 4-week moving average was 361,750, a decrease of 2,250 from the previous week's revised average of 364,000.

Monster is now the career content provider for Lycos.com, Wired.com, and several other sites within Terra Lycos. Through the agreement, Lycos users across the United States access to career-related tools, resources, and technological expertise.
Salesforce.com, a San Francisco-based customer relationship management firm, has filed a registration statement with the SEC for a proposed initial public offering. The amount of the offering and date have yet to be set. Founded in 1999, Salesforce.com currently has about 8,400 customers and approximately 120,000 paying subscribers running its services in 11 languages.
