The seasonally adjusted annual rates of productivity growth in the third quarter are 8.6 percent in the business sector, and 9.4 percent in the nonfarm business sector. In both sectors, upward revisions to productivity reflect much larger upward revisions to output than to hours.
In manufacturing, revised productivity increases in the third quarter are 9.0 percent in manufacturing, 14.8 percent in durable goods manufacturing, and 3.1 percent in nondurable goods manufacturing.
New Combinations
Kforce and Hall, Kinion & Associates have executed an Agreement and Plan of Merger, which is to be accomplished through a stock-for-stock exchange. The combined companies will operate from approximately 80 offices in 45 markets.

Silicon Valley.com reports on a national survey which indicates that employees' propensity to quit is virtually unchanged since 2000. Half the workers said they'd jump to another company for just an extra $1,000 in stock or a better chance to earn a $5,000 bonus. Read on…
