Real gross domestic product increased at an annual rate
of 3.3 percent in the second quarter of 2003, according to revised estimates. In
the first quarter, real GDP increased 1.4 percent.
Personal income increased $21.7 billion (0.2%)and disposable
personal income (DPI) increased $73.6 billion (0.9%) in August. Personal
consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $59.8 billion (0.8%). In July, personal
income increased $24.2 billion, or 0.3 percent, DPI increased $125.4 billion, or
1.5 percent, and PCE increased $71.8 billion, or 0.9 percent, based on revised
estimates.
