Help Wanted
The Conference Board Help-Wanted Advertising Index was unchanged in July. The index remains at 38, down from 44 a year ago. In the past 3 months, help-wanted advertising rose in six of the nine U.S. regions. Largest increases occurred in the Mountain (12.6%), Pacific (9.8%) and East South Central (6.6%) regions. Declines occurred in the West North Central (-1.8%), West South Central (-1.5%) and South Atlantic (-0.3%) regions.

Personal income increased $19.4 billion (0.2 %) and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $120.3 billion (1.5 %) in July. Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $59.7 billion (0.8 %). In June, personal income increased $33.7 billion, or 0.4 percent, DPI increased $30.6 billion, or 0.4 percent, and PCE increased $44.5 billion, or 0.6 percent, based on revised estimates.
