Real gross domestic product increased at an annual rate of 2.4 percent in the second quarter of 2003, according to advance estimates. In the first quarter, real GDP increased 1.4 percent.
Personal income increased $29.3 billion (0.3%) and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $26.2 billion (0.3%) in June. Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $22.6 billion (0.3%).
Private wage and salary disbursements increased $9.9 billion, goods-producing industries' payrolls increased $1.6 billion, manufacturing payrolls increased $0.1 billion, distributive industries' payrolls increased $1.9 billion, service industries' payrolls increased $6.4 billion, compared with an increase of $3.2 billion, and government wage and salary disbursements increased $5.0 billion.

Advertising agreements between Monster and AOL and MSN will not be renewed come December, which is the end of the contract year. CareerBuilder will become the new employment content
provider for both Internet portals. The multi-year contracts add up to about $250M for the job site.
