New Combinations
The New York Times Community Affairs is partnering with The September 11th Fund on a new hiring campaign called 9/11 Rehire New York. The program will promote and facilitate the hiring of individuals, whose jobs were lost to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
The campaign includes a Web site, where hundreds of resumes of job seekers are currently posted. Employers can go directly to the site or link to it from The New York Times Job Market. The Times will also promote 9/11 Rehire New York through advertisements in the newspaper and radio promotions.
Reveille
According to a recent
BostonWorks.com poll, 57 percent of employees are unhappy with their jobs, leaving 43 percent of those currently employed satisfied with their employment situation. Of the nearly 5,000 votes received, 34 percent were out of work and looking for employment and 66 percent were currently employed.
Through a strategic relationship,
Deploy Solutions, provider of Applicant Tracking and Talent Optimization solutions, integrates the
AIRS Oxygen, a Web-based candidate search solution that has been recently enhanced with a new candidate marketing engine.

October 15, 2003, has been designated as National Disability Mentoring Day. Begun in 1999, National Disability Mentoring Day promotes career development for students and job seekers with disabilities through one-on-one job shadowing, group visits to public and private employers, and hands-on career exploration. It is held in October in conjunction with National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Now, that's diversity.
