A study, When the Presence of Creative Coworkers Is Related to Creativity, which examines the role of the joint condition of supervisor close monitoring and the presence of creative coworkers on employee creativity, finds that when creative coworkers were present, the less supervisors engaged in close monitoring and the more employees exhibited creativity, and that the contribution of this joint condition was stronger for employees with less creative personalities, such that when creative coworkers were present, the more supervisors provided developmental feedback and the more employees exhibited creativity. From the June 2003 issue of Journal of Applied Psychology.
