Most
regional and State unemployment rates were little changed in
February. All regions and 42 States recorded over-the-month shifts of
0.3 percentage point or less. The national jobless rate was about
unchanged at 5.8 percent. Nonfarm employment decreased in 33 States and
the District of Columbia in February.

OnCall Systems, Inc. is a phone-based automated recruiting software and service for instant fulfillment of hourly and part-time workers. Its patent-pending speech-based platform automates sourcing, prescreening, and interview scheduling of hourly workers via the telephone. The company also announced that The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas has signed on as a customer.
Reveille
Deploy Solutions, a provider of applicant tracking and talent optimization solutions for global companies, announced a partnership with MagnaWare , which will integrate its Resume Capture 3.0 with Deploy Solutions applicant tracking product suite. MagnaWare is a Santa Cruz, California, provider of intelligent recruiting solutions designed to enable employers to efficiently attract and hire qualified job applicants.
It's Not the War, It's the Sales
According to
New York Times Job Market Quarterly Survey low sales volume is the top reason cited by 50 percent of New York area employers to postpone any employee hiring at this time. Only 22 percent say that instability in international affairs is affecting their hiring decisions. Employers also mention little government economic intervention (33%), low workload (33%), and improved employee productivity (31%) as other important reasons for not hiring employees at this time.
