CRM Strategy
Read John Sumser's article in the Electronic Recruiting News.

From the Bureau
Total nonfarm payroll employment declined by 108,000 in March, while the unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.8 percent. Employment continued to decline in manufacturing, retail trade, and transportation. Government employment also was down over the month.

Check Out the Competition
Seniorsuccess.net is a non-profit site for showcasing successful seniors. The focus is interviewing those individuals over 50, who have bounced back in their career and not only survived, but thrived. (If you know of anybody that should be interviewed call 800-3634-8425.)

Reveille
Micro J Systems, is a provider of application software and information systems in the domestic and international staffing industry. Its products include PC Hunter for the search and recruiting industry and Tempus Fugit for the staffing and temporary industries. Worth the Read
The human resources function within companies today needs to look at itself much more as a business, because that is how executives are looking at it and expecting it to operate. Researchers at the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business proposes reconceptualizing HR in a new business model that will make it a strategic partner.

Individual Variation in Decisions
Individuals cope in varying ways with conflict and the corresponding emotion resulting from the decision process. One's propensity to cope in a particular manner may subsequently influence one's choice behaviors. "An examination of the relationships between coping styles, task-related affect, and the desire for decision assistance" finds that an individual's propensity to use a particular coping style and characteristics of the choice environment (alignability of differences or attractiveness of commonalities) interact to influence choice avoidant behavior (hypervigilence or defensive avoidance). Discussion of these results and implications for decision research and organizational decision making are provided. In the January issue of Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes.
