Personal income growth for the Nation was 1.3 percent in the second quarter 2002, roughly the same as in the first quarter (1.2 percent), and up from an average of 0.5 percent for the four quarters of 2001, according to new estimates. Growth in the second quarter reflected faster growth in larger States such as California, New York, and Texas, that more than offset a slowdown in growth elsewhere.
Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report
In the week ending October 19, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 389,000, a decrease of 25,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 414,000. The 4-week moving average was 404,000, a decrease of 5,500 from the previous week's revised average of 409,500.

Jobing.com, a locally focused employment Web site, acquires the domain names ABQJobs.com and ABQCareers.com in the Albuquerque, New Mexico, market. The financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
