Personal income increased $2.4 billion (less than 0.1 percent) and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $11.9 billion (0.2 percent) in July. Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $70.7 billion (1.0 percent). In June, personal income increased $58.6 billion (0.7 percent) DPI increased $55.4 billion (0.7
Percent) and PCE increased $36.4 billion (0.5 percent) based on revised estimates.
Results from the longitudinal survey, National Longitudinal Survey of Youth 1979, finds that the average person born in the later years of the baby boom held nearly 10 jobs from ages 18 to 36, and more than two-thirds of these jobs were held in the first half of the period, from ages 18 to 27. The survey spans more than two decades and provides information on work (job duration, number of jobs, growth in earnings, promotions, etc.) and nonwork experiences, training, schooling, income and assets, health conditions, and other characteristics.
