Help Wanted
The
Conference Board Help-Wanted Advertising Index increased one point in
April. The index now stands at 47. It was 65 one year ago. In the last 3
months, help-wanted advertising declined in seven of the nine U.S. regions.
Steepest declines occurred in the Mountain (-19.5%), East South Central (-6.6%)
and Pacific (-5.4%) regions. Increases occurred in the East North Central
(8.4%) and South Atlantic (0.1%) regions.

According to a new CareerBuilder survey, Vacation
from Work 2002 found that 51 percent of vacationing workers plan to stay in
contact with work in 2002, up 11 percent from a year ago.
