Executive Pay
According to the new Executive Compensation Index released by the Economic Research Institute and CareerJournal.com, the highest paid executives in this country saw an almost 5-percent decrease in their total cash compensation.
Median pay for CEOs decreased to $1.3 million in 2000—down 32 percent from $1.9 million in the prior year, according to Watson Wyatt CEO Pay Study. Watson Wyatt expects the downward trend to continue, providing further evidence that there is a relationship between CEO pay and performance. This would mark the first time in more than 15 years that CEO pay declined for two consecutive years.

Adecco SA is making a recommended cash offer to acquire all of the issued and outstanding share capital of
jobpilot AG. The acquisition of jobpilot will create a leading European online staffing, recruiting, and service company by combining jobpilot's internet platform with the branch network of Adecco.
