Couldn't Pass This Up
... or hoisted with one's own petard, as the saying goes ...A former recruiting manager has been $5.45 million in damages after a jury determined she was wrongfully fired for blowing the whistle on her employer's failure to comply with Federal affirmative action regulations. The defendant alleged that PeopleSoft misstated the number of minorities and women within the company, and was fired just days before an onsite audit. According to KCBS, the attorney for the defense commented that when it was established that the Peoplesoft figures were wrong, the company said the numbers were not intentionally wrong, but had been a mistake, trying to lay the blame on their own software.
