Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report
In the week ending August 4, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 385,000, an increase of 33,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 352,000. The 4-week moving average was 380,000, a decrease of 16,000 from the previous week's revised average of 396,000.
The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 2.4 percent for the week ending July 28, an increase of 0.1 percentage point from the prior week's unrevised rate of 2.3 percent.
