Virus Alert
The W32/SirCam@MM is considered a high-risk virus, which can come from addresses that you recognize. Attached is a file with two different extensions. The file name itself varies, as does the body of the message, and it has English and Spanish versions. The message begins with "Hi! How are you?" and ends with "See you later. Thanks". McAfee and Symantec offer more details about the virus, including detection and removal information.
Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report
In the week ending July 14, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 414,000, a decrease of 35,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 449,000. The 4-week moving average was 414,500, an increase of 2,500 from the previous week's revised average of 412,000.

Regional and State unemployment rates were generally stable in June. All four regions recorded little or no change from May, and 45 States reported shifts of 0.3 percentage point or less. The national jobless rate was little changed at 4.5 percent, and nonfarm employment increased in 27 States and the District of Columbia in June.
