In March, 224 metropolitan areas recorded unemployment rates below the U.S. average (4.6 percent, not seasonally adjusted), while 101 areas registered higher rates. Nine metropolitan areas had rates below 2.0 percent, two each in Connecticut and Virginia. Among the 10 areas with jobless rates over 10.0 percent, 7 were in California, and 2 were along the Mexican border in other States.
New Combinations
Saba has acquired Human Performance Technologies of Annapolis, Maryland, a provider of processes and training for human performance management.
Reveille
Jungle Interactive Media, publishers of MBAJungle.com and JDJungle.com closed a $9.5 million second round of financing.
Kingdon Capital led the round with $5 million, with Korn/Ferry International and Ridgewood Capital each investing $2 million.
JobCircle will power the new online career center for the Eastern Technology Council.

A Class of 2001 survey by Vault.com indicates that 76 percent of this year's graduating class have at least one internship under their belt, and 51 percent have completed two or more. This represents a 38.7-percent increase since 1995, when only 62 percent of college seniors had completed at least one internship by graduation.
