The index fell by a hefty 17 percent over the latest week ending April 16, though the amplitude of the weekly drop reflected religious holiday shifts. But still, this marked the fifth decline in the index out of the last 6 weeks. Moreover, on a 4-week moving average basis, the index declined by 5.3 percent and has declined in 7 of the past 8 weeks.
