Community Affinity plus content plus a good location equals a great party. Media Bistro seems to have figured this out. Read about it in today's Electronic Recruiting News.
The JobOptions/BTM Job-Listing Index
The index rose by 1.6 percent over the latest week ending February 26, following a revised decline of 18.6 percent in the prior week. For the month as whole, the index rose by 15.2 percent as compared to January, or was up 18.8 percent from the same month of the prior year. Overall, the February online job market improved mainly due to seasonal influences and partially due to the fundamentals. (Go to Latest Weekly Release.)
Reveille
ConsultSmart reports changing its name to Ventive to reflect its commitment to technology developments for the contingent staffing services industry.
jobs.com can now provide employers with a variety of web-based prescreening services through ApplicantScreen.com, a small business portal from Professional Resource Screening, Inc.
E-cruitment solutions provider JobOptions.com will power several career channels within The Destiny Group, a recruitment network specializing in transition assistance to individuals with a military background, including www.Vets4Hire.com, ww.militaryspouses.com, www.mil2civ.com, and www.vetsofcolor.com. (Some sites are still under development.)

Couldn't Pass It Up
Proctor and Gamble division line Physique reports on a survey it commissioned that indicates that your hairstyle (what else) dictates the first impression you make within three seconds of meeting you. The survey shows that women with short styles are seen as most confident, while long tresses are considered sexy and affluent. For men, the short, front-flip style is considered sexy but also very self-centered. Are you a hair-ist? How is this related to ageism?
