2000 Part 1
It's the time of year when we begin to reflect on where the year has gone and just what happened. In keeping with the season, Sumser takes a look at what happened in the World of Recruiting during 2000.
From the Bureau
The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.1 percent in November, before seasonal adjustment, to a level of 174.1. For the 12-month period ended in November, the CPI-U increased 3.4 percent. The Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-U) rose 0.2 percent in November, prior to seasonal adjustment.
Real average weekly earnings declined by 0.1 percent from October to November after seasonal adjustment, according to preliminary data. A 0.3-percent decrease in average weekly hours and a 0.2-percent increase in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) were partially offset by a 0.4 percent increase in average hourly earnings.

Peopleclick, maker of Web-based applicant tracking software, has acquired Criterion Incorporated for an undisclosed sum.

Jobs & Adverts AG, the creator of career market jobpilot.com, is changing its name to jobpilot AG.
Headhunter.net will provide American Management Association members access to its recruitment tools, including job posting and editing, application tracking, and its database.
ISS Staffing Services, Inc. changes its name to Talent Tree, Inc. as a result of the sale of the company this past summer.
Bridges.com Inc. now provides the career-related content to the AltaVista and eFront career channels.
