In the News Galaxy.com's
30 Days On the Internet lists the top ten sites voted as
the best resources for career information in a user-friendly format:
America's Career InfoNet, BestJobsUSA.com, CareerBuilder, CareerExperience, CareerIndex, CareerMosaic, College Grad Job Hunter, The Employment Spot, Monster.com, and Vault.com.
The
JobTrak Index for August 2000 shows a 6.9-percent increase in
total job openings posted in comparison to August 1999, with an
average starting salary of $36,607. This is down from a year-to-year
high of 50.4 percent in March.
The 14th Annual Salary Survey from Computerworld
includes a breakdown of salaries by industry, company size, and
job title.
Internet Workforce Compensation Study 200 is the Industry
Standard's first review of compensation, culture, and job
satisfaction in the Internet workplace.
Tower
Perrin's annual HR Service Center Survey found that the
implementation of HR transactions on the Web, such as annual benefit
enrollment, personal data changes, 401(k) changes, and family status
changes have increased two- to threefold since the 1999 survey.
Today, the most prevalent HR web transactions include annual benefit
enrollment (39 percent), 401(k) changes (35 percent), personal data
changes (31 percent), and new hire benefit enrollment (19 percent).
Useful Sites Dotcom.com, a new free online
information service focused on dot.com businesses and the Internet
economy. The site gives free statistical information on domain name
registration and specific dot.com companies by State, news, trends,
forecasts, and how-to articles on improving Web site effectiveness
and generating traffic.
