Virus Update CNN
reports that a computer virus featuring the cartoon character
Pikachu has left some operating systems devastated. The virus
initially appears as an e-mail with Pikachu in the title. If you
have no idea who or what this character is, ask any child.
Gross Domestic Product Real gross domestic product, the
output of goods and services produced by labor and property located
in the United States, increased at an annual rate of 5.3 percent in
the second quarter of 2000, according to preliminary estimates
released by the Bureau of
Economic Analysis. The major contributors to the increase are
reported to be nonresidential fixed investment, inventory
investment, personal consumption expenditures for services, and
Federal Government spending.

New Combinations Recruitsoft reports it has
completed its full-service candidate sourcing capabilities through a
new alliance with Kennedy Information's SelectRecruiters.com.
eHire contractors are now
available on the Vivant
contractor procurement exchange.
ITTA's JobPOST Plus, which provides job posting and job response
capabilities, will be incorporated into the Sendouts Pro applicant tracking
system.
Fees For Whose Performance? The
Kansas City Star reports on Karol Phelps, who paid nearly
$6K to Bernard Haldane Associates to place her in a high paying
position. Instead, she copied names from newspaper ads, databases,
and Internet sites. She not only wants her money back, she has filed
a complaint with the Kansas Attorney General.
