The first technology-driven workforce testing and training ACT Center opened in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Nearly 250 ACT Centers are expected to be operational by the end of 2001, with more than 150 colleges already committed to establishing them.

Heidrick & Struggles International announced that on an adjusted basis, diluted earnings per share were 49 cents, revenue grew 47 percent to $166.4 million, and net income was $10.0 million.
Kforce.com revenues rose to $197.7 million and reports a net income, excluding incremental costs, of $2.8 million or 6 cents per fully diluted share.
Manpower Inc. net income rose 20 percent to $38.0 million, or 49 cents per diluted share. Revenues totaled $2.7 billion, a gain of 17 percent.
RemedyTemp revenue increased to $133.9 million. Earnings per share, excluding non-recurring items, were 38 cents per diluted share.
Total commissions and fees for TMP Worldwide were $300.7 million for the second quarter ended June 30. Adjusted net income for the second quarter was $20.7 million, and diluted adjusted earnings per share was 20 cents.
Webhire reports revenue of $5,788,000 and a net loss of $9,891,000 or 68 cents per share. The fiscal third quarter loss, prior to amortization of acquired technologies, stock-based consideration, and two non-cash charges was 43 cents per share.
