Privacy vs. Perfect Fit
While privacy on the internet is paramount to many, high results for all parties involved may be achieved at the expense of said privacy. John Sumser relates how closely held information, properly tailored, can result in a very satisfactory fit.
The Employment Situation
Total nonfarm payroll employment was little changed in June, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Private-sector payroll employment rose by 206,000, following a decline of 165,000 (as revised) in May. The June increase in private payrolls was largely offset by a decline in Federal Government employment, as 190,000 temporary workers hired for the decennial census completed their work. The unemployment rate was 4.0 percent in June, about the same as in May. Average hourly earnings increased by 5 cents over the month and by 3.6percent over the year.
Help-Wanted Advertising Index
The Conference Board reported that the May index declined 6 points to 83, down from 89 in April. Over the past 3 months, help-wanted advertising declined in all nine U.S. regions, with the steepest being in the Middle Atlantic (-14 percent), East South Central (-11.4 percent) and East North Central (-11.1 percent) regions.

Korn/Ferry International will acquire college recruitment company JobDirect in a cash and stock deal worth more than $30 million.

ComputerJobs.com users now have access to EoExchange services to research news, trends, and issues affecting their job search and the high-tech industry.
ci4net.com has acquired a majority interest in Warburton Lort Associates, a London-based executive search. The companies will jointly develop an online career development network with vertical industry-specific job exchanges.
ZDNet and Opus360 will launch a co-branded, independent consultant project marketplace for ZDNet's small business audience that is based on FreeAgent.com content and OpusXchange.com project marketplace technology.
TalentPoint, human capital management solutions firm, will use the background checking services of arrin System.
The zREP scoring and matching technology will power MyCareerNetwork.com job searches.
