International Unemployment
French unemployment fell for the ninth straight month in May, reaching 9.8 percent. The number of people unemployed declined to 2,355,000, the lowest since December 1991.
Japan's jobless rate fell to 4.6 percent in May, its lowest level since last November, as the number of full-time workers rose for the first time in more than 2 years.
Chile's unemployment rate rose to 8.9 percent in March-May, up from 8.5 percent in February-April.
Spain's unemployment benefits claims fell to 8.97 percent in June, from 9.9 percent a year earlier. This is the lowest level since mid-1980.
