Yes, But Not My Kid
Michigan parents favor career training programs for students who need them, but expect their own children to pursue 4-year degrees, according to a survey released by Ferris State University's Partnership for Career Decision-Making in Technologies and Health Sciences. Fifty percent of respondents indicated they believed 0 to 3 years of post-high-school education were sufficient for success in today's job market, compared to only 44 percent who said a more traditional 4-year degree was needed.
