Relocation Reasons
The Atlas Van Lines Corporate Relocation Survey found that family ties continue to be the main reason for declining a job transfer, and that the number of relocations are holding steady. The survey also found that of all the 1999 transferees, 20 percent
were women, 93 percent were from 25 to 45 years old, and only 4 percent were more than 45 years old.
Help-Wanted Advertising Index
The volume of help-wanted advertising in major U.S. newspapers dipped in March, but the demand for workers remains strong nationwide, according to the Conference Board. The organization said its Help-Wanted Advertising Index fell to 87 in March from a revised 90 in February. That compared with a reading of 89 a year earlier and was the lowest since the 86 reported in December.

Thinkpath.com has finalized the acquisition of Micro Tech Professionals Inc., a Boston-based recruitment firm specializing in technical documentation specialists and technical trainers.
Changepoint Corporation and Personic Inc. will offer solutions tailored to IT staffing organizations and corporate IT departments by integrating Changepoint Professional Services Automation and myChangepoint.com with Personic's EZaccessand Personic Workflow software.
AIRS will offer a live newsfeed within the LatPro.com human resources-find employees channel.
National labor and employement law firm Jackson Lewis will provide an employment law hotline service that will be offered to WebHire.com's customer base.
