The index (JLI) rose by 5.5 percent over the week ending April 24. On 4-week moving average basis, the JLI continued to increase for the fifth consecutive week; during the week ending April 24, the 4-week moving average rose by 6.4 percent. On a year-over-year basis, the pace of online job listing grew by 42.7 percent.

The HR-XML Consortium recruiting and staffing workgroup unveiled a draft messaging specification that can enable real-time staffing web transactions using open, non-proprietary XML standards. IQ4hire, a specialty IT-employment marketplace, will focus on CRM and ERP professional services. The company initially raised a total of $3 million from private investors and expects to raise more than $10 million in a first round of official venture-capital funding. The site is scheduled to open May 1.
people3, a Gartner Group, Inc. company, launched two attraction and retention services: IT Workforce Perspective, a self-paced software tutorial that delivers IT employee performance information and IT compensation data; and IT Workforce Strategic Review, a hands-on consulting engagement that delivers an HR audit, IT compensation statistics, IT HR data, and Gartner research on issues and trends.
