We Wonder About Culture Clash...
Headhunter.net, Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to merge with CareerMosaic, creating the second largest online recruiting service based on revenues, traffic, users, customers and job listings. Under the terms of the agreement, Headhunter.net will issue approximately 7.5 million shares for CareerMosaic's assets, representing approximately 40 percent of Headhunter.net's fully diluted shares after the merger. Subject to certain conditions and approvals, the merger is expected to close in the third quarter. Career Mosaic is a subsidiary of Omnicom Group Inc.

The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments' Board of Directors unanimously resolved to establish a telecommuting goal of 20 percent of the regional workforce by 2005. The vote is a call for governmental and private sector employers to adopt formal telework programs, which would tackle the problems of traffic congestion and poor air quality in the region.
