New Twist
EmplawyerNet has instituted a reverse placement fee program which will pay a firm $100 each time the firm makes a hire through its site.

New Combinations
The Gartner Group has acquired a majority stake in TechRepublic, an online resource for IT professionals. The company also announced a $300 million investment from Silver Lake Partners, which reportedly will help pay for the 90-percent stake in TechRepublic. TechRepublic employees will keep the other 10 percent.

Dice.com will provide its job listings on five IT-related sites: Linux Mall, DominoPro, Gelicon, MC MCSE, and MicroTimes.

Mercer Consulting Group, a corporate strategy and human resources consulting firm, has agreed to acquire Delta Consulting Group, a New York-based corporate organizational design and change management consulting firm.

CareerMosiac agreed to co-brand sites with career management and coaching provider FindCareer.com and Perl Mongers, a Website dedicated to Perl programmers. These alliances come on the heels of two other partnerships with healthcare site Omnicell.com and technical support service company Service 911.com.

Jeff Taylor, CEO of Monster.com, said the company is considering buying the naming rights to the new $225 million stadium that will be built for the New England Patriots.

Staffing firm TECH/AID has converted its recruiting operations to a regional hub for all of Southern California.

TruckNet, the online driver and owner-operator community of iFLEET, has revised its web presence by redesigning its site and enhancing its recruiting solutions.

State Updates
The Michigan Department of Career Development is awarding nearly $3.3 million in additional funding to the State's 25 Michigan Works! agencies.

California Job Source introduced a new website for California residents looking for employment in the State government.

A $20.2 million grant from U.S. Department of Labor will fund the Washington Metro Area Technology Initiative, designed to train 3,300 people in the Washington, D. C., metropolitan area for information technology jobs.
