Internet recruitment firm Dynamic Information System eXchange, Inc. has ended its joint venture, topjobs.net inc, with the British corporation topjobs.net plc. DiSX retains its 41,667 shares of common stock in topjobs.net plc.
CareerMagazine has been acquired by VerticalNet Inc. Details on the multimillion-dollar transaction have not yet been disclosed.
Through a new agreement with language support provider Slangsoft.com, users of job-search engine Upseek.com will have the ability to perform key word searches in 42 languages regardless of the operating system.

ResumeSendOut.com
claims to enable job seekers to distribute their resumes to a
network of 8,000 recruiters, hiring managers, and HR professionals across the United States and Canada. This is the first of three e-services websites from New York high-tech recruiting firm Placement2000.com.
American Vantage purchased an 80-percent interest in Placement2000.com in December 1999.
Medicats.com is a new
career website designed specifically for medical careers. The niche site is from Adman Promotional Company, developer of Tigerjobs.com.
ClickCarolina.com
specializes in job and career opportunities in the two Carolinas, and has been developed in partnership with CareerMag.com. The site boasts over 4,000 job listings in the Carolinas.
Switchboard.com and Jobs.com will link users to
customized, co-branded job-search tools, and people and business directories across the U.S. and Canada. Both Switchboard and jobs.com are part of the CBS Internet family.
Under a 1-year agreement, TalkCity will provide community platforms and activities for HotJobs, including moderated
discussion boards and online events accessible through both
websites. In turn, HotJobs.com will host a co-branded career section at TalkCity, allowing visitors access to its database of job listings and search technology.
Andersen Consulting announced a major new initiative to attract and reward high-performing employees. Among other actions, it will invest $200 million in ecommerce-related companies on behalf of the employees and intends to subsequently invest another $100 million each year.
