Middies Catch Up

New Combinations
SkillSet will use the eQuest job posting network to allow its customers to instantaneously post jobs to more than 1,100 career sites and measure which sites produce the best results.

WorkForce Technologies, a human resource solutions firm, will provide support offerings to Resumix customers.

CareerEngine has created a career search section for Salesguy.com job seekers.

Gets To Brag
The GoTo Network updates its top 100 most popular job sites.

Subtle Recruiting?
"There are a million stories in the workplace, CareerFables.com wants yours..." Based on this press release, we are unsure why, but assume it does have something to do with recruiting.

The Employment Situation
Employment rose in January, and the unemployment rate was essentially unchanged at 4.0 percent, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Nonfarm payroll employment increased by 387,000. There were sharp increases in construction and in other weather-sensitive industries. Average hourly earnings rose by 6 cents in January and by 3.5 percent over the year. The number of persons in the civilian labor force grew to 140.9 million in January. Total employment rose by roughly the same amount to 135.2 million. About 7.6 million persons held more than one job in January. These multiple jobholders represented 5.7 percent of the total employed, compared with 6.0 percent in January 1999.

Search Engines
ExactOne.com has a new proprietary technology called the InterQuery Engine, which enables users to directly search through Internet databases to find goods and services.

SpotOn, a free browser add-on eliminates the need to retrace your search steps.
