Market Report
The main currency pairings are continuing their trends from Friday, with USD/JPY extending its gains and EURO/USD reaching new record lows. USD/JPY broke through resistance at the 107.20 level and reached a high 107.50, triggering stops along the way up. It spent the rest of the day moving between 107.20-50. EURO/USD attempted to trade back above the 0.9800 level, but could not sustain above the level. The market was hoping for a bounce from the weak EURO/USD, but with failure caused the unloading of the long positions. It broke through the 0.9735 record low to reach a new low of 0.9665. With combination of a strong U.S. economy, a Fed hike expected this week, and strong gains in the US stock market are boosting the dollar.
