Agents from the Immigration and Nationalization Service arrested 40 computer programmers in San Antonio, Texas, searching for abuses in the H-1B visa program. The incident is spreading fear and uncertainty among Indians who have high-tech work visas, as well as accusations of racial profiling.

Since last April, New York City's Human Resources Administration has been recruiting and training welfare recipients to work from home as telephone psychics. Fifteen people have been hired so far by the company, Psychic Network.

Workforce Crisis
According to findings in the California Strategic Planning Committee for Nursing Report Planning for California's Nursing Work Force, that State is experiencing a nursing shortage that could have serious consequences for the delivery of health care. Further, California's education programs do not have the resources to increase the supply of nurses.

Employer-Brand Recruitment
JWT Specialized Communications will donate proceeds from its Employer Image Monitor (EIM) Study to fund scholarship programs for high-technology students. The annual study will assess and track the impressions held by college juniors and seniors of a variety of potential recruiters.
