Given the emphasis on effectively managing relationships and workplace functioning, the following is a list of training topics one thinks would be important ideas in the arsenal of Best Thinking and Practices. Although one fundamentally disagrees with the premise that good management can be learned by those in a hurry, it is believed that these new proposals may, in fact, benefit anyone--to slow down and think.

Systems 101: Overview of how relationship systems affect worker productivity. Focus on how the forces in one's family affect the worker on the job and vice versa, and on effective self-management.

Stress Response 101: An overview of the stress response in the brain and its effect on functioning ranging from heightened sensitivity to functional helplessness to behavioral inhibition. Focus is on the infectious nature of anxiety. (Recommended: Systems 101)

Triangles 101: Overview of what happens when a 2-person system becomes unstable, and how that trickles down through the ranks. Highlights what drives decisionmaking. (Prerequisite: Systems 101)

Gossip 201: Is the grapevine overactive in your company? Do you have a HIGH turnover rate? Focus is on how these two symptoms are related and what they indicate in an organization. (Prerequisite: All of the above)

Depression Is A Relationship Process 302: Overview of individual/group depression as an indication of an ineffectively managed conflict in the upper ranks of the family/company. (Prerequisite: Systems 101 and Triangles 101. Recommended: Stress Response 101).

Cutoff 101: An overview of the relationship between emotional cutoff and legal suits, company sabotage, social isolation, and workplace violence. (Prerequisite: All of the above).
